New Paragraph

  • Are you accepting new patients?

We are so happy and honored that you found us!  Due to our small size, we are only accepting newborns and a limited number of transfer families each month.

If you would like to be a part of our practice family, complete the brief application provided. Please note that this does not guarantee you a slot and there is not a wait list.  You will be notified within 5 business days if space is available.  We ask that you refrain from calling before that time has elapsed.  Once accepted, our staff will reach out and ensure insurance coverage (see insurance list).

If you are transferring to the practice, we will need all prior records sent to our office before making your appointment.

We look forward to meeting your family!

  • How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment please call our office. To ensure the best use of time, for both our physicians and patients, all of our office visits are by appointment only. We ask that you arrive at our office 10 - 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow you to complete any necessary paperwork and to update any demographic and insurance changes. If you must cancel an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible so we can offer that time to someone else.

Emergencies arise. We will advise you if there is going to be a delay in seeing you. If your schedule won't allow you to wait, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment. We do appreciate your patience and cooperation during our busy times and we will make every effort to keep your wait time to a minimum.

  • How can we get medical advice and help after hours?

.   We provide a range of options to continue to provide help when the office is closed.

    1. AFTER HOURS LINE :  For urgent matters 24 hours per day, you can call our main number at 703.344.7330.   When the office is closed these calls incur a $30 fee to provide full staffing at all hours.  A central call service will forward your information to a pediatric certified nurse.  Calls are triaged and prioritized by urgency.  For less urgent calls, it may be up to 60 minutes before you are called back.  Usually it is much faster, but there are times when large volumes of calls come in due to high rates of illness.  In most situations a well trained pediatric nurse will be able to answer clinical questions.  Some calls will be forwarded to one of our on call providers for more challenging and/or concerning medical issues .
    2. PATIENT PORTAL :  Questions about infant care, feeding, medication refills and other non urgent matters are best sent to the  patient portal   or called in during our regular business hours for no fee.  When the office is closed the patient portal is checked at least once or twice per day.
    3. TELEHEALTH:  Through our partnership with  Hello Pediatrics   we can provide more options for you and your family, particularly after our regular business hours.  This includes a visit with a board certified pediatrician.  On most weekday evenings, telehealth is offered 5 pm - 12 am and on weekends 12pm - 10 pm.
IN THE EVENT OF A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911.
  • How do I obtain a prescription refill?

Please use our patient portal to request medication refills.  If you do not have a patient portal set up, please call our office for help or request that the pharmacy send us a refill request.

Medication refills for ADHD, depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues requires a visit every 3 months in our office.  Refills will be denied if more than 3 months has elapsed since the last visit.  If your child is in danger of running out of a medication prior to the next visit, we will complete a refill to bridge this time for a  $20 fee.  Please schedule follow up at the end of visits to avoid these situations whenever possible.

Refills are usually completed within 2-3 business days.
  • My child needs to see a specialist. What do I do?

When one of our providers refers you to a specialist, please schedule your appointment with the specialist, then call our office at least five business days in advance of your appointment for us to complete and electronically send a referral form.
  • When will I receive lab or xray results?

You will receive a call or message from our office within 1-2 business days of receiving non-urgent lab or xray results.  Most blood tests drawn in our office or at lab corp will automatically populate into your child's medical record and be available in your patient portal.  Be aware - many results that may highlight as abnormal can actually be normal in a child.

You will receive a call quickly with any lab results that require urgent attention.

As a policy, we do not notify families of strep throat cultures UNLESS it affects a change in management.  All rapid strep tests are followed by cultures as a standard of care in our office.
