Mental Health Visits at Einstein Pediatrics
At Einstein Pediatrics, we know that emotional and behavioral health is just as important as physical health. If you’re concerned about your child’s mood, behavior, or mental health, we’re here to support you with thoughtful, evidence-based care—starting with a dedicated visit designed to understand what your child is experiencing.
Who This Visit Is For
We offer mental health consults for children ages 5 to 18 who may be struggling with:
- Anxiety or persistent worries
- Sadness or mood changes
- Behavior or attention concerns
- School stress or social difficulties
- Sleep problems or withdrawal
- Other emotional or behavioral changes
Our Evaluation Process
We believe early support makes a big difference— let's get started!
Step 1 – Intake Visit with Your Child’s Primary Care Provider
At this visit, we will:
- Talk with you and your child about your concerns.
- Review school, home, and social functioning.
- Screen for safety concerns.
- Decide which questionnaires are needed.
- After the visit, our office will send the appropriate screening forms through the patient portal.
- Schedule your follow up visit at check out for two weeks later. This allows you time to complete your forms and our providers time to review.
Step 2 – Complete Screenings at Home
Families, teens, and teachers (if needed) will complete forms after the intake visit.
Once all forms are received (1-2 weeks), our team will schedule the follow-up appointment.
Step 3 – Follow-Up Visit
At this visit, your provider will:
- Review screening results
- Discuss diagnosis (if appropriate)
- Create a treatment plan
- Discuss therapy, school supports, and/or medication options
What to Expect
- Two visits are usually needed
- Forms are completed after the first visit
- Diagnosis and treatment planning happen at the second visit
How to Get Started
Families should schedule an intake visit with their child’s primary care provider. Forms are not required before the first appointment.
