The Evaluation Process

We believe early support makes a big difference— let's get started!

  • Step 1 - Assessment

    Initial Visit (60 minutes):

This visit includes both the child and parent/caregiver. A developmental history and intake questionnaire must be completed beforehand—please call our office to receive the forms.

If your child is new to our practice, please also submit any relevant documents, such as:

    • Previous evaluations or testing

    • IEP or Child Find reports

    • Vision and hearing screening results

    • IQ testing (if available)

During this visit, Dr. Eden will get to know your child’s developmental strengths and challenges and determine the most appropriate testing module. For children under 36 months, the STAT or RITA-T may also be used.

  • Step 2 -Testing

    ADOS-2 Testing (45 minutes)

This play-based assessment is done in a quiet room with Dr. Eden. Parents of younger children may stay in the room and will be guided through when and how to participate.

To help your child perform their best:

    • Make sure they’re well-rested and fed

    • Avoid scheduling during nap time

    • Reschedule if your child is sick

    • Continue any usual medications (e.g., ADHD medications) unless advised otherwise

  • Step 3 - Review Evaluation

    Results & Recommendations (45 minutes)

At the final visit, Dr. Eden will review the findings with you, provide a comprehensive summary, and offer recommendations and next steps. This visit is for parents or caregivers only—your child does not need to attend.
